Summary
A wooden pencil case coloured blue-green, either by painting or scribbling with coloured pencils is unclear. Both top and bottom can be opened by sliding a lid which pivots on a screw at one end and has a diagonal-shaped end at the other. The space thus revealed is a simple rectangular hole filling the whole case on one side, and in the other side is divided into three grooves for accommodating pencils. The case has been well-used and scribbled in.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Miss Sarah Hosking in 1983.
Marks and inscriptions
Near the edge of the top and bottom: 'SARAH HOSKING'
