Summary
A doll's metal cradle painted white. The basket shaped mesh cradle lined with a padded faded blue fabric is suspended on two hooks between two uprights. Each upright finishes in a scroll. The upright at the foot end is like an elongated 'S' in shape. The upright at the head end is twisted and bent into a right angle which projects over the cradle to support the canopy (see below). Both uprights are attached to a metal frame beneath the basket shaped cradle. The frame is supported on four legs which each end in scroll feet. The bedding for the cradle consists of the following; a dirty white muslin canopy decorated with embroidered white dots and trimmed with lace; a matching frill to hang around the outside of the cradle; a white linen sheet trimmed with lace; two cream woollen blankets edged with blanket stitch; a faded blue-green silk pillow trimmed with lace; a white linen half-oval shaped pillow trimmed with lace and with two cotton tie bows on the underside; a cream cotton oval shaped mattress; and a cream silk padded coverlet/ eiderdown trimmed with cream lace. Total number of items is 12.
