Summary
A bisque-headed doll, possibly made by J.D. Kestner, with sprung jointed arms and legs. Composition, or possibly wooden, body, arms, hands, legs and feet. Painted facial features. Short real light brown hair sewn onto fabric attached to head. Open and shut brown glass eyes with eyelashes. Open mouth revealing two front teeth. Fingers and toes delineated with red paint. Wearing a cream fine wool long sleeved dress decorated with pink embroidery and fastened at the back with two mother of pearl buttons. White lawn petticoat decorated with four pin tucks and herringbone embroidery. It has a crocheted lace trim to the bottom edge. Cream flannel petticoat with herringbone embroidery and scalloped bottom edge. White lawn chemise. White cotton drawers with cream crocheted lace trim. The doll is currently wearing the bonnet catalogued as Co.179a (658215).
