Summary
A pair of checked woollen drawers for a child (circa 1890 to circa 1920). The background colour is grey, with brown and light brown lines forming the checks. The drawers are gathered on to a deep waistband which fastens with a fabric-covered button at the back. The drawers have been enlarged at some point, and the button is at the end of an added strip of black and white striped cotton. Attached to the top of the waistband are four long pieces of tape (two at the front and two at the back), for tying at the shoulders. Near the ends of the (separate) legs, the fabric is gathered into bands of the small fabric. They are quite well worn and slightly dirty, with a small hole near the gap on the back of the right leg.
