Summary
A child's skirt in the style of a kilt, in mainly red 'Royal Stewart' tartan, sold by 'Marks and Spencer' under their brand name 'St Michael' (circa 1980). The skirt has a fringe on the wrapped-over front edge, pleats all round the sides and back, and fastening with a leather strap through a silver-coloured metal buckle. The skirt is also elasticated at the waistband above the part where the pleats are and has a red plastic button fastening under the waistband. The label shows it was made for Marks and Spencer (St Michael) for a child aged 5.
