Summary
A long, white, cotton, woman's nightdress. It is quite full, and gathered at the front and back neck into a band of fabric, which is embroidered along each long edge with feather stitch with a broderie anglaise edging at the neck. The short sleeves are edged with the same broderie anglaise, with one row of feather stitching at the sleeve edge. The opening (at the back), approximately 19cm long, is trimmed with a band decorated with two rows of feather stitching and broderie anglaise all around the edge, fastening with a fabric-covered button at the neck edge. Below the bottom of this opening is is 'A B/ 6' in red cross-stitch (possibly a laundry mark).
