Summary
A doll's white cotton chemise (circa 1850s). It is a T-shape but flares out under the sleeves towards the lower edge. The neck is open between two slits at the shoulders which form flaps at back and front, and fastens by means of two tape loops on one flap and lengths of tape on the other. The sleeves are edged with narrow white lace (one piece has a small hole). The chemise is slightly dirty and has a small red ink mark on one shoulder.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mrs M. A. Barlow in May 1978.
