Summary
A very small baby's first shirt made of cotton (circa 1800 - circa 1840). The short sleeves have triangular inserts at the underarm. The garment is open at the back, or possibly it is the front, and has extra fabric for an overlap. The neckline has two vertical slashes from the shoulder which form a flap which can be folded down at the front and the back. There is a possible laundry mark in brown ink 'W626'. The garment has a few small tears and is slightly stained.
