Summary
A baby's first shirt made of cotton (circa 1850). The arm holes have triangular inserts under arm and are trimmed with lace. The garment is open at the back or possibly it is the front. There is some darning and the lace is torn. The neckline has two slits on either shoulder forming a rectangular flap that folds down, from the front and back, to protect the baby's skin.
