Summary
A child's (boy or girl) white petticoat in fine cotton, which has a plain bodice and a broderie anglaise skirt (circa 1900 to circa 1920) . Around the waist, at the seam where the bodice is attached to the skirt, is a channel through which a length of white tape is threaded, but there does not appear to be any other means of fastening. There is a tear towards the lower edge of the skirt, and the whole garment is quite stained. This garment could possibly have been made from a baby's gown.
