Summary
A cream-white, straight, cotton, child's petticoat, which has a deep broderie anglaise frill at the hem. There is a narrow crocheted border around the neck and armholes, and inset in each shoulder is a piece of broderie anglaise edged in crochet (each has been sewn into a tuck, to shorten the petticoat). All this decoration is the same colour as the petticoat. The petticoat opens at the back edge, where it is fastened by two mother-of-pearl buttons with handsewn buttonholes. There are a few small brown stains on the back, possibly made by pins.
