Summary
A child's pinafore made from white cotton. The fabric has a diamond pattern in the weave and a chintz-like sheen. The centre front is gathered at the waist and held by a self-fabric belt which is sewn on with feather stitch for a length of approximately 23 cm, then has a button on the right-hand end and a buttonhole on the left. The armholes are edged with narrow broderie anglaise, and there is a channel at the neck edge through which a narrow tape is threaded, for tying at the back. There are a few tiny brown stains on the inside at the waist.
