Summary
A child's white cotton long-sleeved smock (circa 1890 to circa 1910). The smock opens at the front and fastens with nine buttons. Four buttons are mother of pearl or plastic, the other five buttons are linen covered. The collar is decorated with stitching around the edge. The top part of the bodice is decorated with three large pintucks with the same stitched pattern. Below this, the bodice is decorated with a square on each side of the opening. These squares are filled with a diamond stitched pattern. This pattern is repeated towards the ends of the sleeves. The very ends of the sleeves are frilled. The back of the smock is decorated in the same way but with only two decorated pintucks at the top of the bodice and a large diamond stitched rectangle below.
