Summary
A long white linen robe for a baby, with long sleeves gathered near the cuff and edged inside with lace. The long full skirt is gathered into the bodice which is decorated at the front with five vertical panels of broderie anglaise, bordered at each side by a zigzag-edged broderie anglaise frill which continues over the shoulder. At the neck edge is a narrow lace frill and a channel threaded with narrow tape for tying at the back. There is another channel at the lower edge of the bodice. The back skirt is plain apart from a set of five narrow pintucks just above the hem, but the front is a very deep piece of broderie anglaise, embroidered with rows of flowers and ending at the hem with a zigzag border. There is a stitched repair under the left sleeve, and a small hole in the broderie anglaise frill over the left shoulder.
