Summary
A (possibly circa 1896) long white cotton baby's petticoat which matches the baby's christening gown inventory number 658209. The gown (658209) was made for the donor by her aunt in spring 1896, so it is possible that the petticoat was about the same time. The top of the bodice has a drawstring which is threaded so that there is a space for the arms to pass through. The back opening is closed by a linen button and buttonhole and a drawstring at the waist. The bottom of the petticoat has three rows of pintucks and an edging of white crochet.
