Summary
A baby's 'carrying' cape made of fine wool, lined with white cotton and faced with cream silk (circa 1890 to circa 1910). There are three layers to the cape. The main cape, a shoulder cape which comes a third of the way down the garment and a collar. All three layers have a frill of broiderie anglaise which are gathered onto the robe. The main cape and the shoulder cape have two layers of artifical braid around the edge, the top layer has loops at intervals. The collar has a single layer of braid. There are two silk ties at the neck edge.
