Summary
A child's white cotton bonnet made up of two different materials (circa 1830 to circa 1850). The back of the bonnet has a self patterned square design which is gathered into the front panel and joined with a pink piping. The front half of the bonnet has a frilled tuck between the piping and the face edge. A wide band of cotton lace edges the whole bonnet - the lace could possibly be added later. The right hand side of the front panel has an insert of the back material. A drawstring runs through the seam at the nape. There are two material ties.
