Summary
A white cotton pinafore for a child. The fabric is woven in a diamond pattern with a chintz-like sheen. There are frills at the tops of the armholes, and both these and the lower edge are edged with a double row of picot-type edging. The centre front is gathered at the waist into a short length (approx 12 cm) of broderie anglaise, attached to each end of which is a long, broad fabric tie. There is a narrow channel at the neck edge through which a narrow length of tape is threaded to tie at the back. There are a few tiny brown stains on the left of the pinafore.
