Summary
A pair of trousers (circa 1920) for an adult, possibly part of a dressing up costume, made from bright yellow cotton chintz, with elastic (now perished) threaded through the waistband. Inside the lower end of each leg is a lot of dark brown fluff. The matching sleeves are recorded as inventory number 658064 and 658064.
Provenance
Donated to the National Trust in 1973 by Mr Gladwyn Turbutt. A collection of mid 19th to early 20th century children's and babies' garments (also three black and white photographic studio prints of children from the family). All these items came from the donor's family home.
