Summary
A man's Regency hand embroidered waistcoat which is lined with white cotton. There are two embroidered flap pockets at the hips. It is cut away at the waist and there are twelve embroidered buttons and buttonholes. 18th century. The embroiderery consists of a wavy band of small blue sequins within a border of yellow chain stitch down the front edge interwoven with a line of trailing flowers and stems. There is some brown staining.
