Summary
A child's red wool (possibly 'Turkey' red) double breasted jacket. The jacket fastens with six cut steel buttons. There are two matching buttons on each cuff. The jacket is lined with red silk or satin. Pinned onto the jacket with haberdasher's pins were two white cotton lawn lace trimmed cuffs and a white cotton lawn collar with a ruffle trim. These are now stored in the same box, but separately. The associted breeeches are recorded separately as inventory number - 658033. Total number of items is 4.
Provenance
Donated to the National Trust in 1973 by Mr Gladwyn Turbutt. A collection of mid 19th to early 20th century children's and babies' garments (also three black and white photographic studio prints of children from the family). All these items came from the donor's family home.
