Summary
A pack of 'Happy Families' playing cards in their original packaging, made by John Jaques and Son Ltd, circa 1900. The box made of card with a pink coloured paper covering has printed information front and back. The title Happy Families, a picture of Mr Pots the painter's son, description of the contents and name of the manufacturer. On the reverse names of other card games available from the same manufacturer. The cards have pictures of the family members and names and occupations; on the reverse side are single colour facsimiles of the twelve families included. These in a grey/green colour. Total number of items is 50.
