Summary
Two packs of playing cards in a cardboard box, which may be original to one of the packs (1950s). The box is made of cardboard, covered in blue, textured paper on the outside and gold-coloured, textured paper on the inside. Each pack of cards has its own compartment in the box, which has two lids, hinged at the side to cover each compartment separately. There is a gold-coloured rim at each open edge, round the edge of the base, and round the top edge of each lid. The top of each lid has a cushion of paper-covered cardboard. Stuck to the base of each compartment is a piece of white ribbon, which hangs outside for easy removal of the cards. Both packs of cards are complete. On the back of one is a colour-printed reproduction of a painting of the Spanish Infanta (seventeenth century dress). The other has a pink design on the back with 'State Express, Cigarettes' in a red area, bordered by white scrolls, at each end. Total number of items is 105
