Summary
The box of playing pieces and an instruction sheet for the board game Halma (circa 1920- 1930). It is made of cardboard covered with glossy clolour-printed paper and consists of a base and a lid. The base is covered in bright blue paper and the lid has a similar image to the board. Inside is a sheet of white paper printed in black with the rules of the game, in English and French. The playing pieces are made of turned wood and coloured - 13 yellow, 10 purple, 1 pink, 1 red and 1 dark red. There is also a purple 'draught' shaped piece. One of the yellow pieces has been 'decorated' in black ink to represent a person i.e. the rounded top piece has a face and the conical piece has arms drawn on.
