Summary

A board game entitled 'Peter Rabbit's Race Game' (1921). It has a rectangular cardboard box with a removable lid which is now held on with sellotape. The lid is decorated with colour illustrations of Peter Rabbit, Squirrel Nutkin, Jemima Puddle-Duck and Jeremy Fisher. Printed on the lid in green ink is 'Peter Rabbit's Race Game'. Inside the box is a colour printed board which unfolds to reveal a series of coloured lines divided into numbered squares. One line is pink (for Jemima Puddle-Duck); blue (for Peter Rabbit); yellow (for Squirrel Nutkin) and green (for Jeremy Fisher). There are colour printed illustrations from the corresponding stories inserted between the 4 coloured lines. The start and end of the game is in the centre of the board called 'The Meeting Place In The Wood'. There are also four lead figures - one for each of the characters. There are also two identical printed sets of rules. Printed on top and bottom of rules 'Peter Rabbit's Race Game, By Beatrix Potter And Published By Frederick Warne And Co. Ltd. Chandos House, Bedford Ct., Bedford St., Strand, London W.C.2, and New York. Printed on bottom right hand corner of unfolded board 'Copyright 1921 Frederick Warne And Co. Ltd, New York.
