Summary
A baby's long robe in white linen, decorated with broderie anglaise (circa 1910 to circa 1930). It has a short bodice which has three narrow vertical panels of broderie anglaise, and long puffed sleeves. At the sleeve cuffs and along the lower edge of the bodice is a plain type of broderie anglaise consisting of a row of holes, with very narrow lace at the sleeve cuffs. This lace is also used along the neck edge. The full skirt, gathered into the bodice, has three narrow pintucks parallel with, and close to, the hem, which is edged with a narrow strip of broderie anglaise. The robe fastens at the back with two small fabric-covered buttons and corresponding buttonholes, and very narrow tape threaded through the neck edge.
