Summary
A white cotton lawn baby's christening gown. The neck is trimmed with white lace and fastens at the back with a drawstring tape tie which is enclosed within a casing. The waistband also has a drawstring tape tie which is enclosed within a casing. Beneath the lace trimmed neck is a wide lace ruffle. The short sleeves are also made out of this wide lace. Near the bottom of the gown are four pin tucks, and alternating bands of wide lace and bands of wide lace with scalloped edges. At the very bottom there is a double layer of the band of wide lace with scalloped edging.
