Summary
A long sleeved white cotton baby's chistening gown. The long sleeves and neck are edged with lace with a herringbone stitch border. The bodice has alternate vertical bands of five pin tucks, a herringbone stitch panel, open work panel and flower embroidered panel. The bodice opens down the back with a two button fastening. The bodice attaches to the skirt with a herringbone band below. The skirt has a smocking gather on to the bodice. There is a large tuck at the base with a border of embroidered flowers and cut work with picot edging. There is some staining on the front of the skirt and on one side seam.
