Summary
Print, coloured, The Baby Show by Margaret Ross (fl.1930-1940). A framed colour print entitled 'The Baby Show' by Margaret Ross. Depicts in front of the roots of a tree a Mallard duck wearing a yellow and green striped shawl. A gnome wearing a red hat, green jacket and red shoes holding a quill pen and standing behind a table. A squirrel wearing a pink dress stands beside the gnome. Behind them on the tree roots is a bluetit, another squirrel, a mouse and two rabbits. From left to right is a frog lying back smoking a pipe; a hedgehog holding her juvenile; a shrew with a walking stick; a thrush with its juvenile; a dormouse holding its juvenile; a mouse holding its juvenile; a frog with its juvenile in a jamjar on a trolley and a mole with its juvenile. A notice pinned to the tree reads 'Notice, Grand Baby Show, For Children Under One Month, All Are Welcome, Entrance Free At 2pm May 1st'.
