Summary
Print, coloured, The Village Shop by Margaret Ross (fl.1930-1940). A framed colour print entitled 'The Village Shop' by Margaret Ross. Depicts the interior of a village shop with a female rabbit writing in a book on the counter. Behind her a male rabbit wearing a blue and white check shirt and a green apron, stands on a chair and holds a box in his paws. There is a female rabbit customer wearing a red shawl and a male rabbit customer wearing grey trousers and a blue jacket. In his left paw he holds a young rabbit wearing red dungarees. A squirrel wearing a purple jacket stands on tip toe at the counter. A rabbit wearing a blue jacket, carrying a basket and parcel walks away from the shop across the fields. There are two notices on the wall above the door, one reads 'Notice, Early Closing, Thursday 12.30'. The other reads 'Orders Taken For Wedding And Birthday Cakes 4/6 To 12/6'.
