Summary
A set of leather child's reins. The front of the waistband of the reins is decorated with a heart shaped piece of leather, the centre of which has a shield. The shield is decorated with stitching on the inside and outer edges. The inner edge of the heart has a stitched border and there are four circular metal studs, two at each side, attaching this piece to the rest of the waistband. To the left and the right of the central decoration are two diamond shaped pieces of leather. Each is decorated with one metal edged circular piece of mother of pearl?. At the back of are metal loops. The waistband fastens with a metal buckle at the end of a long piece of leather. The other side has nine holes drilled into it, seven at one edge, the additional two further on. The reins are completed by a long leather loop in order to lead the child, the loop has one metal stud on it. The waistband and the loop are connected to the decorated piece by additional metal studs.
