Summary
A 'French bisque fashion doll' (circa 1875) with bisque head and upper torso. Glass inset blue eyes and painted facial features. Dark brown hair braided with red velvet ribbon nailed to forehead, and maroon satin ribbons. Black bead earrings attached to ears. Kid leather body and limbs. Wearing cream cotton dress with cream lace trim to neck, bodice, belt, cuffs, and bottom of overskirt and bow at back. Red braid applied by hand to bodice, belt, sleeves, overskirt and underskirt and bow. Ivory comb attached to right wrist with maroon satin ribbon. Lace trimmed cotton petticoat. The small hat is made from dark blue velvet and black lace decorated with deep pink velvet ribbons, an artificial fern and white flowers. There is a long black velvet tie at each side.
