Summary
A rosewood veneered and ebony stand decorated with ormolu and brass inlay with a green malachite top, probably by the leading cabinet maker and dealer George Bullock c.1815. It supports a candle stand (SUD/F/67b) on its octagonal, malachite top with an inlaid border running foliate pattern in brass. Raised on four inlaid brass supports over a circular drum base, inlaid with 'antique' patterns (derived from Ackermann) and upon a rosewood and brass inlaid, square base. Commissioned to support the candelabrum that was traditionally acquired by Admiral Borlase Warren in Russia.
