Summary
English 8-day striking longcase clock in oak case, c.1760-1790, the dial signed by Jonas Barber, Winster; 2 train, 4 pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack striking on bell. 11 inch square brass dial with the seasons as spandrels. Oak case with flat top hood and plain wooden pillars; trunk with shaped top to door, and canted front edges; plain plinth with wide skirting. Movement is very recent, the calendar not operative. The dial, c.1760, was 'married' to the movement and the case, which is of c.1760. Hood pillars are recent replacements.
