Summary
A piece of jacquard-woven woolen double cloth woven with 'Bird', a pattern designed by William Morris between 1877 and 1888 for Morris & Co, and probably produced at the Merton Abbey workshop. The woven cloth has been enhanced by hand with coloured embroidery.
