Summary
Oil painting on panel, Edmund Parker aged 22, British (English) School. 1593. Half-length portrait of a young man, turned slightly to the left, gazing at the spectator, wearing a buff jerkin with a red collar and red and gold braiding holding a note in his right hand. Inscribed on face 'A DNi 1593'. Also, under the paint on the breast in pencil the sitters name inscribed. Same labels as NT 637674 on reverse, substitute Edmund for Elizabeth only.
Provenance
1944, gifted to the National Trust by Field Marshal Sir Archibald and Lady Montgomery Massingberd.
