Summary
Oil painting on board, Don Gaspar de Guzman, Count of Olivares and Duke of San Luca la Mayor (1587-1645) after Diego Velázquez (Seville 1599 - Madrid 1660). Equestrian portrait, in brown monochrome on board. Catalogued as a copy by Sir Francis Grant, but this seems unlikely. Inscription on label on reverse claims F.Grant's authorship. Another label inscribed J.Bank Stanhope.

1944, gifted to the National Trust by Field Marshal Sir Archibald and Lady Montgomery Massingberd.
