Summary
A mahogany commode, English, circa 1780. Faced as a chest of drawers with four false drawers to the front, hinged and opening to reveal a commode with leather padded seat and a textile padded back rest, originally lined with leather. Raised on splayed bracket feet, lacking bowl.

Purchased by the National Trust from the Wrisdales in 2005, formerly owned by the Montgomery-Massingberds.
