Summary
An oak and elm child's rocking open armchair, English, circa 1780. With an arched top rail with tri-pierced curved back splat and shaped arms with cut scrolled terminals on turned supports, the solid seat raised on square section legs with shaped rockers.

Gifted to the National Trust by Field Marshal Sir Archibald and Lady Montgomery Massingberd in 1944.
