Summary
A sauce boat cover. Part of a French white glazed earthenware dinner service of slightly lobed and undulating form, with pink lining and painted with sprays of pink, yellow, purple and blue flowers and consisting of two covered vegetable dishes, two sauce boats (and three covers) and fifteen dinner plates. Sauce boat cover i) of undulating domed oval form with aperture for ladle, raised to a finial modelled as a pear, the whole lined and painted with two sprays and four single flowers. Glaze worn on foot rim.
