Summary
A tureen sauce boat. Part of a French white glazed earthenware dinner service of slightly lobed and undulating form, with pink lining and painted with sprays of pink, yellow, purple and blue flowers and consisting of two covered vegetable dishes, two sauce boats (and three covers) and fifteen dinner plates. Sauce boat e) of undulating oval form, raised on an integral base acting as a saucer, the whole lined and painted with two sprays and four single flowers. Marks; printed in underglaze sepia, 'CHINA' over a crown and a coat of arms with 'K' and 'G' to either side and 'LUNEVILLE' below. Chips and losses to rim of boat and saucer, cracks, rivets, the whole discoloured by excessive heat.
