Summary
Oil painting on canvas, General the Hon. Sir Galbraith Lowry Cole GCB (1772 -1842) (copy after Lawrence) by William Robinson (Leeds 1799 - Leeds 1839). A half-length portrait in uniform, after a portrait by Lawrence, present whereabouts unknown. Sir Galbraith was the younger son of the 1st Earl of Inniskillen. He was Governor of Mauritius (1823-8), and of Cape Colony, 1828-33. He was knighted in 1813. He wears the star of the Bath, which must have been added after 1813.
