Marks and inscriptions
Verso: Label on reverse, upper left: Josias de Robillard who took the name Robillard de Champagne son of Josias Robillard who escaped from France after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes and took service with William Prince of Orange. The first mentioned Josias took part in the Battle of the Boyne as an Ensign in La Melonnières Regt of Huguenot Cavalry. His granddaughter married 1st Earl of Uxbridge whose daughter Lady Charlotte Paget married 2nd Earl of Enniskillen. (This picture was painted from a miniature in the possession of Clore of Drum Bannagher Park under the direction of the 3rd Earl of Enniskillen who took great pride in his ancestor who had fought at the Battle of the Boyne.)
