Summary
One of sixteen dessert plates, part of a Chelsea dessert service, gold anchor marks, each painted with fruit and scattered insects, within blue and gilt feather moulded and waved borders, comprising; sixteen dessert plates ( seven with rim chips) and four oval dishes ( some rubbing to enamels and gilding ), circa 1760.
Provenance
part of a Chelsea dessert service which was brought to Florence Court, as part of her dowry, by the sister of Lord Belmore when she married the first Earl of Enniskillen. The remainder of the set resides in the Breakfast Room at Castle Coole, the Belmore family home now with the NT. Some of the set has been sold off at various times in the past.
