Summary

Cover for one of six (sixth) boxes - Part of a late 18th century Indian filigree silver suite, comprising an oval basket with swing handle and six shaped boxes with covers on stands. Under a glass dome. All presented to William Wynch by the Nabob of Arcot, circa 1790. (See his portrait, Willis bequest, in the Great Hall.) Purchased from Lady Elton, October 1989. £1200.
