The furniture at Clevedon has been accumulated, used and treasured by a succession of Eltons. Some of it, such as the elaborately carved chairs ornamented with crowns from the Restoration of Charles II, predates the Eltons.
Summary
Charles II oak armchair upholstered in dark blue velvet, with a crown and cherub, leaf-carved arms, turned legs ending in paw feet and with a crown and a cherub stretcher, restored. Recovered with new embroidered back and seat by Margaret Havelt Humphrey 1982.
