Summary
Pastel on paper (oval), Bethia Legge, Mrs Richard Willis (1735 - 1778), attributed to Robert Edge Pine (London 1730 – Philadelphia 1788), 1760/63. An oval head-and-shoulders portrait of a young woman, turned slightly to the left, gazing at spectator, pale brown hair drawn back, probably powdered, drop-pearl earrings, pearl necklet tied at the back with a pink ribbon, low cut dress with lace collar and pink bow at front.
