Summary
One of a pair of hand held face screens with shaped oval board and turned ebonised handle, gilt banding. Grisaille illustration of three drunken putti, a barrel and ewer to left. Outer border of twisted blue leaves and applied gilt scrolls. Red morocco paper backing. Made in France or England, circa 1820.

Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
