Summary
A pair of hand held face screens, each consisting of a shaped oval board and turned ebonised handle. Decorated with gilt banding and grisaille illustrations. Outer border of twisted blue leaves and applied gilt scrolls. Red morocco paper backing. Made in France or England, circa 1820.

Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
