Summary
One of three French hand held face screens, consisting of a flat oblong board with concave corners and turned ebonised handle. Hand coloured print of family group beside lake, with swans and peacocks, surrounded by trees. Cut out rectangle for sliding picture of a chateau. Gilt edging. A small printed maker's label pasted on the reverse bears the maker's details: 'A.Giroux and Cie. Rue du Coq St.Honore a Paris'. Circa 1830.

Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
